Dalam sekejap Rara Lembayung menabrakkan tubuhnya ke keris yang masih dipegang anaknya. Keris menghunjam tubuhnya. Rara Lembayung atau Kanjeng Ratu Giring meninggal dunia. Ia mendahului ayahnya Ki Ageng Giring III ke alam kelanggengan.
Menurut uraian juru kunci, Jaka Umbaran tidak menyadari bahwa syarat yang diminta Panembahan Senapati adalah kematian ibunya. Kematian sang ibu itu menyadarkan Umbaran, bahwa yang dimaksud sarung keris kayu cendhana sari bergaris putih tak lain justru sang ibunya, perempuan yang telah melahirkan dirinya.
Takdir telah tergaris. Jaka Umbaran kemudian kembali ke Keraton Mataram. Ia diangkat menjadi senapati memerangi para musuh Panembahan Senapati. Disebutkan kemudian, ia diberi gelar sebagai Pangeran Purbaya yang berjuluk Banteng Mataram.
Masyarakat lokal khususnya di Desa Sodo sangat mengagumi tokoh Rara Lembayung atau Kanjeng Ratu Giring. Ia dipandang sebagai seorang perempuan yang rela berkorban, rela mati demi kemuliaan anaknya.
Makam Kanjeng Ratu Giring berada di sebelah timur makam Ki Ageng Giring. Masyarakat yang berziarah selain berdoa di pusara Ki Ageng Giring, sebagian juga menyempatkan berdoa di dekat batu nisan makamnya. Tidak sedikit yang hadir sengaja langsung menuju ke makam tanpa cungkup (bangunan beratap sebagai pelindung) itu. Tak hanya warga lokal, warga manca juga banyak yang mengunjunginya.
Yusuf Fajarudin menyebutkan, juru kunci makam yang pertama kali adalah Madio Kromo Sutoreko, kemudian dilanjutkan generasi setelahnya, Surakso Sedono dan Imam Musdi pernah membangun cungkup. Namun, ketika sore hari selesai dibangun, esok hari bangunan cungkup bergeser. Begitu seterusnya.
Kemudian salah satu dari juru kunci mendapat petunjuk, bahwa Kanjeng Ratu Giring tidak bersedia dibangun cungkup di pusaranya. Berdasar sasmita atau petunjuk yang diterima pula, ia tidak mau lantaran masih merasa prihatin dengan kondisi anak cucunya. Dalam sasmita tersebut, Kanjeng Ratu Giring menegaskan dirinya tidak takut panas dan hujan.
Yusuf Fajarudin menerangkan, untuk berkunjung ke makam Kanjeng Ratu Giring, ada jenis sajen khusus. Sajen khusus berupa kinang dadi (uba rampe kunyahan daun sirih) dan daun mawar putih. Kemudian bagi perempuan tidak boleh memasuki kawasan makam jika sedang datang bulan.
Ada adat kebiasaan sehari-hari yang masih dipegang warga Desa Sodo dan sekitarnya yang erat kaitannya dengan Kanjeng Ratu Giring. Ketika menyebut daun lembayung, mereka mengganti sebutan dengan daun kacang. Nama ‘Lembayung’ disakralkan oleh masyarakat setempat secara turun-temurun.
“Misalnya jika hendak bilang, mau memasak sayur daun mbayung, maka diganti mau memasak daun kacang. Seperti itu sudah sejak zaman dahulu,” imbuh lelaki ramah ini.
Hal lain yang disampaikan Yusuf Fajarudin yakni terkait keberadaan makam Nyi Ageng Giring III. Hingga saat ini pusara peristirahatan Nyi Ageng Giring III tidak ditunjukkan keberadannya. Hanya juru kunci secara turun temurun saja yang mengetahui, mereka tidak diperkenankan menunjukkan atau menginformasikan ke siapapun. Hal tersebut merupakan rahasia estafet yang belum diketahui akan dibuka sampai kapan.
“Saya juga tahu letaknya namun tidak berani menyampaikan. Tidak tahu sampai kapan rahasia ini dibuka,” tukas Yusuf.
